The Opportunity
The Philanthropy team partners with nonprofits working to create a more just and equitable world. Philanthropy interns will gain insight into grantmaking, with the opportunity to help draft memos, conduct research, and participate in meetings that advance our goal of supporting impactful nonprofits. The Bookstore Philanthropy intern will support a project focused on the sustainability and impact of independent bookstores. They will participate in a variety of efforts, including researching trends in the book industry and meeting with bookstore owners, collaborators, and experts. This intern will have a demonstrated passion for Emerson Collective’s issue areas, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask, as they will manage multiple projects. Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality as interns may encounter sensitive information.

LocationEmerson Collective is a Bay Area-based organization with offices in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. This position is located in Palo Alto, CA and is onsite 40 hours/week between June 10th and August 2nd, 2024.

CompensationAll EC Interns are paid $25/hour and can expect to work 40 hours per week from June 10th to August 2nd (eight weeks). Interns may also receive travel and housing stipends as needed.
