Job Specification amp; Key Priorities
Locaria is enjoying a period of high growth due to its market-leading proposition and as such are creating this new role to provide us with an Accounting amp; Finance Manager based in Mexico as we grow the finance team as our business grows.
Reporting to the VP Finance, this role works closely with the central Stagwell shared Finance function and the wider Locaria Finance team, owning the monthend close process ensuring that accounting policies are followed, SOX compliance and ensuring accurate B/S and Pamp;L on a monthly basis.
Month End Reporting:
- Responsibility for the day to day accounting of the Mexico entity to ensure we follow all local accounting guidelines and processes. Ensuring accurate accounting of Balance Sheet and Pamp;L.
- Responsible to oversee the review of all other entities Balance Sheet and Pamp;L with the team on a monthly basis at monthend to ensure correct accruals / adjustments have been made
- Ensure all HC costs are correctly posted, coded and accrued of required on a monthly basis
- Business partnering alongside FPamp;A for Monthend Reporting, Forecasting and Budgeting.
- Liaising with staff located overseas for all financial information (Locaria and Stagwell)
- Submit monthly actual data into Stagwell parent finance consolidation platform HFM along with any necessary supplementary analysis
Monthly/Quarterly Tasks:
- Preparation of monthly Pamp;L reports and analysis and review with FPamp;A
- Assist FPamp;A with variance analysis on monthly Pamp;L
- Ensure follow code of best practice and SOX with regards to accounting treatment
- Assist with Tracking Client profitability amp; Stagwell Support / Direct Business profitability
- Assist FPamp;A with forecasting / Budgeting of Pamp;L
- Building Annual Budget alongside budget holders including Sales, IT, Marketing, Operations amp; HR and review with VP Finance
- Submit budget and quarterly re-forecast into Stagwell parent finance consolidation platform HFM along with necessary supplementary analysis
Ad-hoc tasks:
- Assisting with finance system development and ongoing reviews to find efficiencies within current way of working, using Automation and AI tools
- Provide support for audit and work closely with our auditors in order to provide timely statutory accounts
- Review and update where necessary current excel models and forms of analysis
- To absorb any other ad-hoc tasks
Process and Controls:
- On-going development of accounting systems, procedures and controls.
- Experience with SOX preferred
- Support the CAP side of the business in the transition to Maconomy for Pamp;L/ BS accounting and client invoicing / vendor payments, which sits alongside our internal workflow management system Plunet. Further system integration and alignment is required to ensure optimal systems efficiency. Currently data is extracted into excel so an advanced knowledge of excel will therefore help in this role
- In particular create ongoing improvements to how monthly revenue recognition and cost of sales reconciliations are produced
- To take ownership of revenue recognition and making sure we produce month end reporting within strict timeframes
Requirements
- Qualified finance professional CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CFA preferred
- 5-7 years of Accounting and Controlling
