Job Description
The Senior Manager of Compliance in Mexico will join PayJoy’s Financial Product team (Risk Strategy, Capital Markets, Fraud Strategy, Collections, Fraud Ops, and Compliance). This role will be responsible for building a Compliance Management program for PayJoy’s Mexico lending operations. As the Senior Manager of Compliance you will be responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of: Policy/Procedure, Risk Assessment, Training/Communication, Monitoring/Testing, and Reporting. Requirements
- 5+ years in the design, implementation and execution of a compliance function for a consumer lending product in Mexico
- Knowledge of local regulatory environment and requirements (CNBV, Banxico, Profeco, etc.)
- Strong technical background and willingness to work with product and engineering teams to find scalable and technology-driven ways to meet compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, global startup environment
- Collaborative approach to compliance that assumes best intent from other stakeholders
- Ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Strong attention to detail but able to see the big picture
- Fluent written and spoken English
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a robust compliance program for PayJoy’s Lending Operations in Mexico
- Align the Mexico program with PayJoy’s global compliance framework and local practices
- Work collaboratively with product and engineering teams to ensure compliant practices are a part of product design and implemented in a scalable and user-centric way
- Develop an assessment and work plan designed to identify and mitigate significant risks
- Execute, and manage monitoring and testing of compliance requirements including third party service providers to ensure PayJoy’s operations meet appropriate requirements
- Be PayJoy’s subject matter expert on Mexico consumer-lending laws and regulations and developments in these matters to address existing and emerging compliance risks that could impact PayJoy’s operations
- Provide compliance-related guidance to lines of business regarding products/services, new initiatives, complaints and issue resolution
- Alert leadership about emerging compliance risks, potential impact and effectiveness of compliance program through regular reporting to senior and executive management.
