Job Description

Business Development Representative at Produce Pay

ProducePay is a new tech-based cash flow solution that provides domestic and foreign fresh produce farmers (growers) who ship to the U.S. with immediate access to distribution and financing. ProducePay’s solutions provide the working capital fresh-produce growers’ need to complete their harvest and grow.

By leveraging our international network, ProducePay connects clients with interested fresh produce buyers and distributors. Interested distributors receive connection to a growing list of international farmers who might otherwise feel limited by current financing options.


Responsibilities
  • Drive new pipeline and sales through business development efforts!
  • Own a territory whereby you build brand awareness for ProducePay by meeting with growers face to face on a daily basis
  • Develop and nurture referral partners and other channel partners (COI’s).
  • Curate, host, and prepare industry specific-talks, roundtables, happy hours, dinners and events
  • Build long-term relationships with prospects and clients through a consultative, expertise-driven sales process (e.g. engaging SMEs as needed, strategically leveraging white papers).
  • Perform pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests.
  • Gather and analyze all information necessary to present financing requests to AE's and senior management
  • Manage three-counterparty transactions (with many moving pieces) to completion by guiding clients through the contracting, due diligence, and transacting phases to a close.
  • Travel often to meet growers and referral partners
  • Help prepare presentations for partners, growers
  • Lead and participate in marketing, strategy, and business process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Business fluency in both English and Spanish is required
  • 3+ years in either fresh produce sales, agricultural inputs sales, or agricultural banking.
  • Proven network of local growers and agricultural channel partners
  • Background in relationship-driven, consultative sales.
  • Detail oriented and able to learn and sell complex financing product
  • Experience working in Salesforce CRM a plus.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50% of time
