Junior QA Engineer

Jellyfish is looking for a Junior QA Engineer to work within our Mexico offices. If you enjoy coding, sharing ideas and love being part of a collaborative team within a growing international agency, then this is the role for you. You’ll be working as part of a customer centric product development team, responsible for designing, building and maintaining both new and existing products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure a project is delivered to scope.
• Expected to ask questions when they are unable to resolve an issue within a reasonable amount of time.
• Learn and follow the Engineering QA Standards
• Obtain a basic understanding of how the team fits within the context of the organisation and an understanding of Digital Marketing
• Follow engineering and deployment processes
• Understand technical documentation (handovers, solution architecture, readmes, code commenting, Jira) and acquire thorough knowledge of Jira and an understanding of user stories, estimation and status updates on ticketsTo understand the contracted scope of the project and escalate the need for change requests when necessary

• Create logs to document testing phases and defects

Requirements

• Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
• Excellent english communication skills are a must
• Demonstrable QA testing experience (web based) in a professional / educational setting
• An understanding of how to QA pixel-perfect front end code based on UX wireframes and Creative Concepts that work responsively across mobile, tablet and desktop devices
• An understanding of performance and/or security testing
• A desire to learn new technologies and languages
• Self-motivated with a sense of ownership.
• A team player willing to contribute ideas and support others with theirs
