The Role

We’re looking for a Junior UX Designer to join our global team of designers in our Mexico City office.

You’ll support other UX designers and projects for clients both in the region and internationally. Working alongside seasoned designers, you will be responsible for supporting UX research activities and creating compelling UX deliverables and UI designs within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Supports seniors or lead UX designers in various stages of the design process
  • Help gather client and user requirements
  • Participate in client workshops
  • Support UX audit activities such as heuristic evaluations, competitive analysis, behaviour analysis and user surveys
  • Support and run qualitative research activities such stakeholder interviews, user interviews and moderated usability testing
  • Help synthesis research into actionable insights, concepts and solutions
  • Develop personas, journey maps and storyboards to capture and communicate user behaviours, motivations and goals
  • Collaborate with team members to craft a solution that is viable for the business, meets user needs, and is technically feasible
  • Model interactions through process diagrams, task flows and interaction diagrams as needed
  • Create both low and high fidelity prototypes
  • Create sketches, user flows, process diagrams, wireframes and working prototypes as needed to articulate design direction
  • Present concepts and ideas to clients
  • Produce detailed functional specifications
  • Brief UI designers, developers and wider teams

Requirements

  • Worked 2-3 years in a professional environment as a UX Designer
  • Strong UX portfolio to demonstrate your skills and experience
  • Degree in design related field or equivalent work experience or training
  • Clear UX design principles and process
  • Experience designing for web (responsive) and mobile applications
  • Experience conducting user research studies and synthesising results
  • Ability to sketch and explore alternative solutions quickly
  • Familiar with usability heuristics
  • Good working knowledge of core interface and interaction design principles (typography, grids, hierarchy, mobile first, responsive, patterns, platform conventions, accessibility standards and so on)
  • Ability to create intuitive and engaging UI screens and user flows
  • Experience of a variety of design tools including Figma, Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS
  • Ability to prioritise your own workload and perform effectively to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate your ideas clearly and confidently to peers, team leaders and clients
  • Comfortable receiving constructive feedback
  • A flexible, positive, solution orientated, can-do attitude
  • Familiarity with core web technologies (HTML/CSS and JS) a bonus
  • Experience with analytics software (GA, Hotjar, Crazy Egg) a bonus
  • Experience with remote user testing services a bonus
