Actuarial Scientist

As an Actuarial Scientist, you will define and operate all of Sofía's technical responsibilities with the rest of the team. From the calculation of reserves, the administrations of our reinsurance contract, and all regulatory responsibilities.

On the other hand, in Sofia, we are doing things differently. An important part will be to design new products and other with the rest of the areas, including analysis of user needs, risk modeling, and implementation of systems to monitor technical performance over time.

Requirements

• You have a bachelor's degree in Actuary Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical area
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• You have a solid foundation in probability and risk
• You have experience in applied statistics and/or machine learning (regression, time series, probabilistic modeling, supervised and unsupervised methods)
• You feel comfortable programming in R and/or Python, with knowledge of statistical libraries/frameworks and machine learning, and wanting to go much deeper
• You know SQL and have experience with commercial databases
• You have experience in the calculation of technical reserves (RRC / SONR / OPC) and/or in the operation of reinsurance contracts
• You have helped design and document technical insurance products
• You really like to collaborate and you can communicate technical concepts in a clear and structured way

• You have a strong sense of the value that a risk product has to its end-user
• You have previous experience in health insurance and/or medical expenses
• You have experience doing (and perhaps automating) regulatory reports (such as RR3 and RR6)
• You are passionate about the impact of technology and design on health insurance
• You have a strong interest in automating processes and modeling using code
• You are interested in developing technical skills in statistical learning and machine learning
