How many people does it take to create an app that simplifies grocery shopping for users? At least 600, because that's how many people are part of our engineering team across South and North America! The engineering team is dedicated to producing intuitive technology for customers, Shoppers and stores, solving challenges along the way.
At Cornershop by Uber, we’re facing new challenges related to storing, processing and managing large volumes of data. The BI Data Engineer will provide the company with vital data to generate key insights and make critical decisions, by handling and processing large sets of data to make it available for future use in various areas of the operation.
What will you do?
- Work with several teams in the company providing solutions to the various data needs that arise during the operation and the building of reports that describe how it is performing.- Build scalable and durable solutions to the various (and sometimes unexpected) data needs we have as a company.- Own the data. Our team is responsible for answering a lot of questions, so we expect you to get soaked in data (don’t worry, we’ll help you), and be able to answer questions from other teams.
What do you need to succeed?- Experience in data modeling, ETLs development and data warehousing, with a focus on sustainable growth.
- Hands-on experience of optimizing highly complex queries (SQL) on large datasets (Mostly Redshift, Postgres, Presto).
- Scripting experience with programming languages such as Python.
- Managing AWS tools focused on data solutions (Redshift, Glue, etc).
- Working with various types of data, in relational and non-relational databases.
- Conversational English.
We would love you even more if...- Have experience working with Airflow or some other code-written orchestration tool.
- Have good programming practices (documentation, readable code, versioning).
- Have an advanced English
