Provide specialist desktop research and analysis of public record information in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean in support of the Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence department. Contribute to the work delivered by the Consultants and Senior Consultants in the CFI, Global Risk Analysis and Crisis and Crisis and Security Consulting departments, and therefore work on diverse, multi-jurisdictional projects for a wide-ranging client base.
Provide training and mentor junior staff, and have primary responsibility for content produced by junior staff. Manage deadlines and budgets for research phases of research-only projects.
Senior Researchers will use their understanding of other departments and practices to collaborate with these teams, and suggest research that would benefit their clients. Assist in identifying databases and / or websites to improve the overall research process.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive database and media research for enhanced due diligence, business intelligence and other complex and often multijurisdictional projects as required
- Analyze research results within the context of the project, and support in the oversight of junior content and reviews
- Conduct review of electronic data (first level review) in support of investigations / discovery processes
- Training of more junior resources and management of project related third parties
- Undertake case-related administrative tasks including liaison with subcontractors, invoice approval and accrual of costs, input of client information in marketing database and support to the Case Manager in proposal and report writing.
- Sourcing new subcontractors in your specialist area
- Developing research processes
- Project management of tasks with varying scopes and levels of complexity
Requirements
- 2+ year professional experience, research and/or professional services roles required
- Excellent verbal and written Spanish and English
- Experience in use of corporate, media, and other specialist databases ideal, but not essential
- Knowledge of the political, security and business environment in in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean
- Undergraduate degree
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written Spanish and English, Portuguese preferred
- Ability to pay attention to detail even under pressure or repetition
- Ability to process and understand large amounts of information and summarize concisely, and to effectively communicate findings to colleagues
- Ability to maintain analytical and investigative mindset while working through minutia
- Ability to work well on a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
