Unravel Data is seeking an Assistant Controller who will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. As a key member of the Unravel team, you will report directly to the VP of Finance, and collaborate with other key stakeholders to drive financial performance and operational excellence.Responsibilities Include:- Preparing and consolidating financial statements for multiple international entities in accordance to GAAP and managing all aspects of the GL
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines, policies and procedures
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including A/R, A/P, general ledger, fixed assets, Tamp;E, revenue recognition, taxes, and treasury function
- Oversee payroll and employee benefits
- Prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions and closing financial records
- Communicates and solves problems with a wide range of internal and external contacts
- Ensure timely filing of federal, state and city tax returns and other statutory filings
About You- Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
- The ideal candidate has experience working at a startup, developing the accounting framework from the ground up
- Extensive knowledge and hands -on experience with accounting process, procedures and transactions that feed the GL
- Experience in financial management, accounting, and auditing
- Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and tax laws
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Experience with financial software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
- Ability to identify and mitigate financial risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or equivalent
- Extensive experience/proven track record (7+ years) in implementing accounting controls and financial processes within a fast-growing organization
- 5+ years of public accounting and/or a high tech organization
