About your role

Drive the growth of our flagship product Microloan by meeting customers' unique financial needs while staying true to Baubap's values and goals, ensuring a thriving business.

• Focus A product manager is responsible for guiding the development and success of a specific product or product line. Their focus is on the entire lifecycle of the product, from ideation to development, launch, and beyond.
• Responsibilities The product manager defines the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. They conduct market research, identify customer needs, work closely with development teams, and coordinate the launch and marketing of the product.
• Skills A product manager needs strong business acumen, market knowledge, and strategic thinking abilities. They should also have excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Goal The primary goal of a product manager is to create and maintain a successful product that meets customer needs and drives business growth.

Outcomes

• Maintain a clear focus on our main KPIs (Customer Acquisition, Customer Retention, and Payment Rate) and assure their health over time.
• Establish the microloan product as a leading solution in the market by differentiating it from competitors and clearly communicating its unique value proposition.
• Continuously improve and refine the microloan product by incorporating new features, leveraging emerging technologies, and addressing customer feedback to deliver a user-centric product that meets their needs.
• Foster strong collaboration among Baubap Teams, to ensure seamless product development and alignment with strategic goals.
• Ensure that the microloan product adheres to relevant financial regulations and guidelines to mitigate compliance risks and maintain a strong reputation in the market.

Day to Day

• Prioritizing tasks: Assess and prioritize product features, enhancements, and bug fixes, ensuring optimal resource allocation across the product team.
• Collaborating with teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, UX/UI, marketing, and customer experience, to facilitate smooth product development and alignment.
• Reviewing product progress: Monitor the progress of ongoing product initiatives, identify potential roadblocks, and devise solutions to keep the project on track.
• Analyzing data: Evaluate product usage data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
• Conducting user research: Engage with customers or users to better understand their needs, preferences, and pain points, and validate product hypotheses.
• Updating documentation: Maintain up-to-date product requirements, user stories, and other documentation to ensure clear communication within the team and with stakeholders.
• Participating in meetings: Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings to discuss product progress, priorities, and potential challenges.
• Communicating with stakeholders: Keep stakeholders informed about product updates, potential risks, and any changes to the product roadmap.
• Planning the product roadmap: Review and adjust the product roadmap to align with shifting business priorities, customer feedback, and market trends.
• Professional development: Stay current with industry news, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management to continuously improve and innovate in the role.

Requirements

• Technical background: A degree in computer science or equivalent experience in a technical role, can be beneficial in understanding the complexities of product development.
• Familiarity with product development methodologies: Understanding of Agile, Scrum, or other product development frameworks.
• Data analysis skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Google Analytics, Tableau) to gather insights, make data-driven decisions, and measure product success.
• Wireframing and prototyping skills: Familiarity with wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, InVision) to communicate design concepts, user flows
