About your role

Our customers are people in a pressing financial need, and whenever they interact with our app, they want the process to be as seamless, intuitive, and simple as possible.

As our UX/UI Design Lead, you will be responsible for creating this experience for our customers and helping us design mobile apps and desktop interfaces that anticipate their needs and improve their experience.

You will be a key part of our team, working on the crossroads between the marketing, tech, and product teams, and ensuring that all our ideas are executed always with the customer in mind.

The key requirement is that you have developed and shipped Android app designs and interfaces that got implemented and were used by large number of people on a daily basis.

Objectives

  • Apply customer knowledge to craft app products that appeal to them and their level of understanding of technology, applied to the financial space in Mexico and LATAM.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, data, and marketing to design and execute growth initiatives.
  • Create the most seamless user experience throughout the customer journey in the app.
  • Develop the design team's vision and strategy. Implement and manage initiatives to execute the strategy.


What you bring to the team

  • Manage and lead a high-performing team of UI/UX designers. Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to ensure their work aligns with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of design solutions that meet high standards and are feasible.
  • Scope, plan, and execute discovery and evaluative design research, and translate research into strategic insights.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user journeys, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Present design ideas and prototypes to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Keep users at the center of the design to make it simple, easy to use, and visually appealing.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in UX design and technology, and use this knowledge to continuously improve the team's design output and processes.
  • Propose best practices for outlining user experience.
  • Develop and lead A/B testing experiments to determine the best experiences for customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a team.
  • Knowledge of journey maps and blueprinting to trace client paths and connections.
  • Problem-solving expertise to determine solutions to user interface challenges.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies applied to UX, such as Lean UX, Design Sprint, etc.
  • Experience with Material Design.
  • Ability to define personas to better understand the target customer.
  • Proficiency in analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Figma, and Zeplin.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Hands-on experience with managing data loads and data quality is a plus.
